Welcome to Ultimate Tic-Tac-Toe!

Rules:

  1. The game is played on a 3x3 grid of smaller 3x3 Tic-Tac-Toe boards.
  2. Players take turns placing their mark (X or O) in one of the small cells.
  3. The Key Rule: Where you play your mark in a small board dictates which small board the *next* player must play in. For example, if you play in the top-right cell of a small board, the next player *must* play in the top-right small board.
  4. If the required next board is already won, drawn, or full, the next player may play in *any* open small board.
  5. Winning a small board claims that board for the player (marked with a large X or O).
  6. To win the overall game, you must win 3 small boards in a row, column, or diagonal on the main 3x3 grid.
  7. If a small board ends in a draw, it counts for neither player.
  8. The game ends when a player wins the main grid, or when no more legal moves can be made (draw).
